When people watch others, they often see what they want to see. If someone is overweight, most people will say that person is lazy. A person with a physical disability is most likely seen as being lazy or thickheaded. But why do we do this? Why are we so quick to judge others based on their physical appearance and and not on their character? Is it because we can’t see past the surface and we judge them as we see them? There is a very subtle truth hidden in this quote: We can’t see past the surface of other people. But we should be able to observe them and discern what makes them tick, what makes them happy or sad, what makes them angry or peaceful.
